The Eunice Kennedy Shriver Academies are
located are located at Overfelt, Piedmont Hills, Yerba Buena, Mt. Pleasant, Sanat Teresa, and Evergreen Valley High Schools
in San Jose, California. Our student population ranges from twelve to sixteen and is comprised of young adults with
various developmental disabilities that include mental retardation, speech and language impairments, emotional disorders,
autism, traumatic brain injury, and Downs Syndrome.
The EKS Academy cultivates in its students a passion
for discovery, collaboration, and personal growth. Our active learning environment connects academic learning to meaningful
real world concepts that inspire students to excellence. Our philosophy encourages students to embrace the challenges of life
and reach for the stars. As a result students develop the skills, character, and confidence necessary for success in adulthood.
This academy plays an iintegral part in helping every student move towards the goals of knowledge acquisition, independent
living, and personal empowerment.
